New Movies

There are 2 new movies that I want to both see and recommend:

Trollhunter (Trolljegeren): A 12-second advertisement is a fair price to pay for this most awesome Norwegian trailer. The movie debuted at a limited number of art-house theaters on Friday, July 17th. If you miss it at the theater, don't worry -- it's sure to become an underground classic once it is released on DVD.

Bellflower: Mad Max fans beware, this movie is getting rave reviews! The official website is HERE. Teaser-trailer HERE. Release date is August, 2011.

"The phrase 'mayhem ensues' is an understatement for this violence-riddled amalgam of fire, alcohol, sex, broken hearts and steadfast bromance."

Hilarious AR-15 Bullshit

LMFAO! This video is awesome.

What Goverment Should Be

I often tell people that I am anti-government, but that is not really true. I believe that the role of government at all levels should be severely limited, and relegated to the following areas:

1. Providing for the defense of the people

2. Limiting the power of corporations, and

3. Promoting maximum self-reliance amongst the citizenry at all times

All government positions should be volunteer, for this is the only way to A) prevent the build-up of dysfunctional bureaucracies and B) prevent government from becoming a business.

Daily governance should be self-regulated by the public, thru grass roots, bottom-up movements that are governed by necessity and by individual responsibility.

Yeah, I guess I'm a Libertarian or a social anarchist at heart.

Electric Boobies

Ready to hit the beach? Brooklyn-based designer Andrew Schneider is now taking orders for his solar-powered bikini. Capable of charging your cellphone or MP3 player, the high-tech swimsuit comprises thin, flexible photovoltaic film strips and USB connectors, woven together with conductive thread. Each bikini, coming in at just under $200, is entirely hand-stitched, requiring an average of 80 hours to make. No need to worry about your iPod running out of juice; the solar bikini will charge your favorite gadgets while you soak up the rays.

Thursday Local Time

•Spent 2 weeks driving around in pinner Israeli rental cars. Got back home, climbed inside Zoom, keyed him up, fired his accelerator, and thought, HOLY SHIT THIS TRUCK IS A BEAST. So I've renamed him The Beast. RIP little boy Zoom, you're all grown up now & Daddy is proud.

•Have a strong yen to buy an SKS. BIG 5 has Yugo models on sale for $399 this week. The Yugo models are supposed to be good, with machined/milled parts & a positive track record. Better even than some Chinese models. All I can think about is buying one, stripping it, sanding & re-oiling the wood furniture, cleaning & oiling the entire assembly, & carefully putting it back together again, with a sling attached. They are butt ugly little bastards, but they are work horses & tin can ammo is cheap. Poor man's AK-47. No need to worry about dents & scratches, the fuckers will last a hundred years if you keep them oiled. & the bayonets, I love those fucking things. When the ammo dries up after TSHTF you still have the folding bayonet to fight with. If I lived in Nevada I'd swap out the box mag for a drum mag & convert to full auto.

•Word is that the current administration is working behind the scenes to institute gun control.

•In Israel, rehydration salts afforded me almost instant relief from headache & muscle ache associated with dehydration.

•Some run-flat tires weigh more than regular tires. One set weighs more than 4 regular tires + a spare...
